Not my own quote but one that seems true many days.  Often I turn to others and their amazing work inspires me to create my own version.  I think we all do that to some extent.  Believe me though, some days it does take an awful lot of courage to attempt a craft room cleaning.  Today will not be one of those days.  Today I will continue work on projects for a Craft Sale from my daughters place in September while the Plowing Match is on.   Watch for samples of creations.    Have a truly wonderful day and thanks for stopping by my blog.  Sharon

Finally some rain to feed the gardens and lawn, it was getting awfully dry and the grasshoppers had taken over.  Since it was raining and a little dull it inspired me to get up in the craft room and start prep for the International Plowing Match.   Having a table at my daughters house and selling my cards, my sons paintings and my daughter's crafts.

Decided that 4 of each card design would be a good number to last the 4 days.

The design incorporates some of my 6 x 6 dsp, and uses Stitched shaped thinlits.  Find that the square thinlits need a size just in between the two largest so flipped it over and just cut (manually) around the outside edge and it was the perfect size to fit under the Happy Birthday.  Water color pencils are my favorite but I know I should do more with the Stampin Blends.
Attempted to make four exactly the same, but that never happens......lol.  Background DSP and ribbon selection different on each one but happy with the results.  Now on to the next design.  Can't take credit for the basic design as I found it on pinterest but adjusted to fit what I wanted.

For the fisherman in your life.  Some simple stamping for a background and a little coloring. After completing this I felt it would look better with water colored pencils blended as opposed to gel pens.  I am happy with the end result though and of course our Happy Birthday thinlit completes it.

My husband and I are amateur photographers and enjoy looking for good shots in nature.  Sometimes nature comes to you and last night as I sat coloring in the sunroom this guy showed up to eat the birdseed we put out on the old well head.  He was there for quite a long time and then spent some time stirring up grasshoppers out of the grass and catching them.
Some lucky shots, right in our own backyard and we live in a village not in a completely rural area, although there is lots of greenspace around us.  I think he is just well adapted to his surroundings.  Thought you might enjoy seeing him/her.

Making a home decor piece with interchangeable 'O'.  All you need is a 5" x 7" frame.  Carefully remove the glass.  Add DSP to the back piece (make sure you check and see that the piece that makes the picture stand in is the correct position before adding letters).  Letters are Stampin Up Large Letter Thin lits.
Mount the letters with a couple of layers of dimensionals or you can use double sided foam.
Create pieces for different occasions.  I still need a birthday one, a valentine one and an easter one.
Okay, so this is a different kind of home decor, however she is definitely part of the craft room when I am there.   Meet Tinkerbell.
This will be my go to piece for most of the year.  Interchangeable pieces have a small piece of double sided magnet (I got sheets from the dollar store) and a small matching piece is placed on the base itself. Voila!!!!   Would make a great Christmas gift.   Hope you like it.

July 7, 2019 Fun with Shutter Cards

Created this fun Shutter Card for a great nephews birthday.   Found it easy to do and included it in my last class it was a big hit and I think will become a favourite type of card to make.

Used some retiring DSP and our Stampin Up Balloon Bouquet punch.  For instructions just check out Shutter Cards on you tube.  The only change I made was to place the sentiment stamped image on the inside of the card before adding the shutter pieces as I found it much easier than trying to fit it in after the shutter pieces were installed as per videos.  You can easily just the opening by just placing your shutter pieces where they will go and judging from there.

Have fun.
